Courtney Jung
Professor

Courtney Jung is a professor in the department of political science at University of Toronto.  She is the principal investigator for TIESR.  Professor Jung is the author of two books – Then I Was Black: South African Political Identities in Transition (Yale University Press, 2000) and The Moral Force of Indigenous Politics: Critical Liberalism and the Zapatistas (Cambridge University Press, 2008), and a number of articles and book chapters.  She has received awards from the Fulbright New Century Scholars Program, the Mellon Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.  She has been a member at the Institute for Advanced Studies, and a visiting professor at Yale University, University of Cape Town, and Central European University.  Funding for this project was awarded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

 

Kasaun Bekele
Research Associate

Kasaun graduated in 2009 with an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto with a specialist degree in International Relations. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in Public Administration at Queen's University School of Policy Studies, with a focus on social policy in a Canadian context.

 

Salvator Cusimano
Research Associate

Salvator is in his third year of an Honours B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies and International Relations at the University of Toronto. In addition to his interest in constitutional law, Salvator's research interests relate to social constructivism in international relations and conflict resolution.

 

Jessica Hedges-Chou
Research Associate

Jessica graduated in June 2010 with an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Political Science at the University of British Columbia.

 

Evan Rosevear
Research Associate

Evan is currently pursuing a combined PhD in Political Science and J.D. in Law at the University of Toronto. His primary research area is the study of law and politics (the politics of law), particularly with respect to constitutionalism, judicial review, and rights adjudication. He holds an MA in Politics and Policy from the University of Toronto and a BA (Spec. Hons.) in Public Policy and Administration from York University.
